Service Clubs

Inverell is proud to boast an array of service organisations which proivide community orientated activities and initiatives for the Inverell district and beyond. From fund raising to providing food at local events, they are present in many shapes and forms all year round, in both times of celebration, disaster or need. A small selection of the service organisations in Inverell are detailed below.

  • APEX

Apex is a volunteer community service organisation that for Australians aged 18 to 45. Apex members work together to serve the community by promoting service, fellowship and community spirit. They work not only in the local community, but are highly involved in many wider social issues.

Besides the satisfaction from helping others, members benefit from becoming better leaders and team players, and from improved presentation and public speaking skills, networking and friendship building.

Apex holds fortnightly meetings which are lively and interesting, and arrange for rewarding and entertaining work and fundraising activities within the community.

  • COUNTRY WOMENS ASSOCIATION (CWA)

The CWA is the largest womens organisation in Australia with a membership of approximately 25,500 in 1500 branches around the States and Territory. The CWA aims to improve the conditions for women and children and make life better for families, especially those living in rural and remote Australia.

CWA of NSW Inverell Branch allows women to get together to socialise and discuss issues of relevance to them and their lifestyles. Supporting women, children and families in rural areas through health and welfare. New members are welcome.

  • INNER WHEEL

Inner Wheel is part of one of the largest Womens organisations in the world. Friendship, personal service and international understanding are our aim. Membership is by invitation. Please contact Jenelle if you would like more information or are interested in joining.

  • LEGACY AUSTRALIA

Legacy is a charity providing services to Australian families suffering financially and socially after the incapacitation or death of a spouse or parent, during or after their defence force service.

  • LIONS

Lions Clubs aim to serve and help people in our community who are less fortunate, while having fun and enjoying fellowship. Community minded people are welcome to enquire about their activities and membership.

  • INVERELL LIONS CLUB

Inverell Lions is a service club that is involved in fundraising, helping people and building local community projects. Inverell Lions run the Sapphire City Markets on the first and third Sunday of each month, on the banks of the Macintyre River in Campbell Park starting 6.30am, for more information please contact Phil Beeton 6721 5871 between 6 and 9pm. Money is also distributed into various Lions Foundations such as - Save Sight, Public Health Care Foundation, Diabetes Foundation, Visual Independence, Cord Blood Foundation, Medical Research, Australian Spinal Cord Fellowship, Australian Lions Childhood Cancer Research, Australian Childrens Mobility, Australian Lions Drug Awareness, Lions Prostate Cancer Research & Treatment Project, Pre-school Autism Education & Therapy Project, Youth Exchange Program and the Youth of the Year.

  • MACINTYRE LIONS CLUB

Community minded people are welcome to enquire about their activities and membership.   • NATIONAL SERVICEMENS ASSOCIATION

The National Servicemens Association provide a welfare and advocacy service to the families of incapacitated and deceased veterans. Assistance with War Widow Pension applications and all DVA matters.

  • QUOTA

Quotas motto - We Share - guides members to develop friendships, encourage others, and promote international understanding. Quota is known especially for service to disadvantaged women and children and to people who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, and speech-impaired.

The Inverell Quota Club Branch is a local organisation and money raised in the Inverell community stays in Inverell.

Toastmasters encourage people to be confident in social and professional settings, by allowing them to practice their speaking, presentation and leadership skills in a friendly supportive environment
Toastmasters will help you to gain the skills and confidence you need to effectively express yourself in any situation. By learning to effectively formulate and convey your ideas, you open a world of possibilities. You will be more confident whether speaking with your colleagues, your community or your family.

Leadership is the art of understanding the needs of others and guiding them to achieve common goals. To do so, you need to communicate effectively and inspire people to work as a team. Learn leadership theories and put them into practice so that you can, in turn, apply them to everyday situations.

  • VIEW

VIEW stands for Voice, Interest and Education of Women.

The Club provides a setting for local women to get together to socialise and also have the chance to give women a voice on important political and social issues. Proceeds go to the Smith Family and all are welcome.
