Total Population Statistics
The Total Population of Inverell is 15,510 excluding overseas visitors with 7,652 being male, 7,858 female and 5.3% of the population being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders decent. In addition there has been an overall increase of 3.03% in the growth of Inverell since the last Census completed in 2001. With the highest percentage of population 36.3% being in the 25-54 age bracket followed by the 65 years and older majority 17.8% and the youth 5-14 years covering 15.3% of the total population of Inverell.
Employment Statistics
Our Total Labour Force consists of 6,632 including employed and unemplyed persons. With 3,949 people employed on a full-time basis and 1,746 employed as part-time basis. With 553 people unemployed and 4,899 not in the labour force. The current Occupations of people residing in Inverell that are currently employeed and aged over 15 years consist of 1,208 Managers, 934 Labourers, 823 Technicians and Trades workers, 791 Professionals, 632 Community and Personal Service workers, 617 Clerical and Administration workers, 605 Sales workers and 356 employeed as Machinery Operators and Drivers. The average weekly rent being $120 compared to the $190 in Australia. The median monthly housing loan repayment was $867, compared to $1,300 in Australia and the average household size was 2.5 with 1.1 being the average number of persons per bedroom. In Inverell 39.9% of the occupied private dwellings were fully owned with 28.3% being purchased and 25.5% were rented.
