The Collection
The Inverell Public library believes collection of local history materials is an important service to the community and places a high value on the informational and research uses of local history materials. The Library recognises its responsibility in the area of archival preservation and conservation of local history materials.
The Library is actively collecting Local History materials, and genealogical materials that focus on the local area. Materials collected relate to all past, current and future aspects of the Inverell Shire and its communities of interest. Materials are collected in all formats, including but not limited to books, microform, maps, audio-visual materials and photographs.

Inverell Times
The library has copies of the "Inverell Times" on microfilm from 1899 – present. Additional newspapers of interest include "The Inverell Argus" (1899-1904) and various papers from the Tingha and Bundarra region. All these microfilms many be viewed in the library, and copies of articles made if desired.
A limited number of recent articles may be viewed from the website of the Inverell Times.
Archives Resources Kit
The Archives Resources Kit comprises the core of the State's historical records and is available for all to use in the library. This set of microfilms and microfiche is a primary research tool for family historians and researchers. This set is provided by State Records, New South Wales and may be accessed by members of the public without charge.
