"Bailed Up" is now the most famous Australian painting in the Art Gallery of NSW, and its worth is estimated at about $12M. Other events held included the re-enactment of "Bailed Up" on the Newstead Paradise Road, an Art Walk, Street Party, Art Workshops, film evenings, poetry readings, Tom Roberts Heritage Tours and much more. 'Opera in the Paddock' - this highly successful outdoor music event is now an integral part of the North West New South Wales Art's Calendar, attracting an audience from throughout the State and interstate, regional centres and cities alike. Set in the beautiful bush setting on the property 'Mimosa', Delungra, 25 kms west of Inverell, patrons enjoy a wonderfully social time prior to the commencement of the concert on dusk.
The fifth annual event of Opera in the Paddock was held on 12 April 2008. The programme featured selections from Hendel and Bach. Other operas included a segment from Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, Rossini’s La Cenerentola, Verdi’s La Traviata, a selection from the ever popular operas by Gilbert and Sullivan with a selection from musicals to conclude the evening.

The Inverell Pipe Band is a voluntary organisation of local people whose aim is to foster a friendly family based environment and encourage participation and education in piping and drumming, as well as provide a social meeting place where interested people can practice and perform music. Members of the band are soon set to travel to Scotland to compete in the World Piping Championships in Edinburgh we wish them the best of luck.
To celebrate the arrival of spring, the Telstra Country Wide Sapphire City Festival is held every year during the month of October. A week full of fun and featuring numerous events, culminates in a Festival Parade, Grande Finale and Crowning of Festival Princesses and Queens.
